RTL press release: Oliver Geissen to host the game show classic “Ruck Zuck” on the new station RTLplus

Cologne, 10.05.16: In addition to his RTL shows, the popular RTL host Oliver Geissen is taking over the hosting of “Ruck Zuck” on the new free TV station RTLplus. “Ruck Zuck” is one of the most famous and popular game shows on German TV. Two teams of five players each compete against each other during the 30-minute show. The goal is to paraphrase predetermined terms in such a way that the respective team members can guess what they are. In doing so, certain words must not be mentioned and key words may be used only once – and all this in only 40 seconds! The team that earns the most points after four rounds reaches the final. A team can defend its title five times and thus participate in the final six times.

Oliver Geissen: “Even before I started working in television, I always loved to watched ‘Ruck Zuck’, so I’m really looking forward to hosting the game show.”

The new free TV station offered by the media group RTL Germany, scheduled to go on air on 4 June 2016, provides an entertaining programme mix of popular classics and exclusive in-house productions. RTLplus will be receivable from the start via digital satellite as well as online and via mobile via the video selection TV NOW. Distribution will gradually be expanded.

The station’s in-house productions include new versions of popular game shows that will be shown on RTLplus starting in the autumn of 2016. These also include “Family Duel”, hosted by Inka Bause, “Jeopardy!”, with Joachim Llambi, and “Wheel of Fortune”.

The game shows will be produced at the Nobeo Studios in Cologne-Hürth from the beginning of June. They will be aired on RTLplus as of September. Ufa Show & Factual produces “Family Duel” and “Ruck Zuck”, while Sony Pictures Film und Fernseh Produktion GmbH Deutschland produces “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune”. Euro Media Group has chosen to extend its broadcast camera fleet with Sony’s HDC-2500 and HDC-4300

Euro Media Group (EMG) has signed a four-year contract to harmonize its broadcast camera fleet with a major investment in Sony’s HDC-HDC-2500 and HDC-4300.

In order to continue leading the industry, EMG needed to upgrade to a solution supporting next generation technology such as 4K, High Dynamic Range (HDR) and High Frame Rate (HFR) shooting. The group also needed to use a single camera platform that will enable to enhance the efficiency of their operations increasing the synergies between subsidiaries. Sony won the tender after a comprehensive process involving multiple broadcast camera companies.

Enissa Amani is the shooting star of the German comedy scene. With her charming if cheeky
chatter and amusing commentaries, the Persian-German comedienne toys with the clichés of
everyday life, switching from make-up to Marx in the blink of an eye. Now ProSieben has
devoted an entire personality show, “Studio Amani”, to the self-proclaimed Cologne native.
Endemol Shine Germany chose nobeo Studio 1 to produce the eight shows, and also used
the direct, uncomplicated workflow offered by the nobeo infrastructure. “Studio Amani” –
Mondays at 11:15 pm from 7 March 2016 on ProSieben.

nobeo needs unbeatable teams: Das Erste with “Duelling Couples”

You may be an unbeatable couple at home, but can you do it in front of the cameras? Presenter and bestselling author Anne Gesthuysen and “Harsh But Fair” (“hart aber fair”) host Frank Plasberg stepped up to the challenge. In the new early evening quiz show “Duelling Couples” (“Paarduell”), the married journalists tackled questions posed by Jörg Pilawa and competed against other couples in a fascinating test of knowledge. Das Erste showed 26 episodes of this format every Monday to Friday at 6 pm as of 22 February 2016. TV producers Ansager & Schnipselmann called on nobeo’s full-service capabilities during the production of the first season, with the set located in Studio 2.

Euro Media Group names Ronald Meyvisch, Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Euro Media Group (EMG), Europe’s leading provider of broadcast facilities and services today announced that Ronald Meyvisch New technology officer since 2011 has been named CTO (Chief Technology Officer). From January 1rst, 2016, he will report directly to Thierry Drilhon, Charmain & CEO of Euro Media Group, succeeding to Luc Geoffroy, CTO of Euro Media Group since 2007.

Ronald Meyvisch brings in-depth knowledge of technology and 25 years of outstanding experience in the broadcasting industry of which 5 years at Euro Media Group. In his role, he will be responsible for maximising the synergies between EMG’s technical resources, framework agreements and partnerships with manufacturers and he will be leading innovation as well as the transition of the Group’s media facilities towards an IP based infrastructure.

Ronald Meyvisch,50 years old, started his broadcasting carrier as a video engineer in 1990. In 1996, Meyvisch became Engineer In Charge at an outside broadcast company and later served as technical and operations manager. When HDTV took-off in Europe, he oversaw large HD productions such as the first HD broadcast of the UEFA Champions League Final in Istanbul in 2005.
Ronald Meyvisch joined Euro Media Group in February 2011, as the company’s new technology officer a role he will fulfil until December 31st 2015. For the last five years, he has helped the company to anticipate new generation technologies in the fast pace broadcasting environment (UHD, Connectivity, Workflows, remote production, MAM). In order to do this, he relied on his academic knowledge enriched with personal hands-on field experience.

Instead of seeing your favourite band with thousands of other fans, who wouldn’t leap at the chance to see them up close and personal in a living room vibe? This autumn, the V+ Sticker Promotion 2015 from Veltins made this a reality. On 30 October 2015, 125 lucky winners experienced their own private live gig in the Barmer Bahnhof Club in Wuppertal. The web-TV-mobile @-car and its crew were there with them. Inside the club, five cameras produced the video signal that was recorded live on tape in the @-car. Just as “Dinner for One” is inextricably associated with New Year’s Eve in Germany, the live production of “People Pictures Emotions” unmistakably ushers in the pre-Christmas season for nobeo. Once again Günther Jauch joined us in Studio 8 to look back on stirring images, heartwarming fates, incredible experiences, and the people behind these stories. No less secretly, Warner Bros. International Television Production Deutschland GmbH engaged nobeo for the production of “First Dates.” Starting on 21 October, the internationally successful dating show from Britain seeks to pair up lonely hearts on sixx. With some modifications to perfectly integrate the recording technology and the Flight Case production set, nobeo installed 20 remote and finger cameras at Cologne restaurant campi. They recorded the candidates’ partly shy, partly bold attempts at flirting on eight production days, providing the material for post processing in a perfect tapeless work flow.

Stars, charity and a premiere: nobeo produces the “Toyota Live Show”

Celebrities and charity projects helped Toyota introduce its newest model. For the launch of the new Toyota Auris the manufacturer staged an entertaining live show in Cologne on 12 September 2015, made available to view via live stream at more than 400 Toyota partners throughout Germany. The unveiling of the new vehicle was presented by hosts Nazan Eckes and Oliver Geissen. At the same time the focus was on the dealers’ charity projects, supported by prominent guests like Axel Prahl, Jan Josef Liefers, Jana Ina Zarella, Atze Schröder or The Boss Hoss. On behalf of MB Produktions GmbH the stars of our mobile fleet, nobeo1 and the @-car, showcased their abilities in MPN Studio 1 and handled all the technical aspects of the show as well as the live streaming.
