For the seamless coverage of this year’s Tour de France, nobeo’s French sister company EUROMEDIA was completely responsible. Throughout the competition, EUROMEDIA turned to a whole fleet of motorcycles, helicopters, aeroplanes, tour buses and more in order to broadcast Chris Froome’s fourth overall victory.

The press also benefited from EUROMEDIA’s service: Newspapers and broadcasters used the signals not only to report on the results in front of the camera, but also to supply a range of background reports relating to the Tour.

Millions of people from 190 countries all over the globe were glued to the world’s largest cycle race, whose live coverage this year was provided entirely by A.S.O. for the first time.

Update on nobeo postproduction projects

Post-recording is pre-postproduction. Over the past weeks, numerous producers have turned to nobeo’s uncomplicated tapeless workflow, where every challenge and discipline from cutting, audio post, colour grading, creation of graphics, and upload to the broadcasting channel go hand in hand. Among nobeo’s guests were Spin TV with “Following Death’s Tracks – The Cases of Prof. Tsoko” (“Dem Tod auf der Spur – Die Fälle des Prof. Tsokos”) for SAT.1, the format “Sell it at home” (“Verkauf’s zu Haus”) from Norddeich TV for RTL, and Endemol Shine Germany with new episodes of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” (“Wer wird Millionär?”) and “The Millionenshow” (“Die Millionenshow”) for RTL and ORF2. UFA Film und TV Produktion visited our postproduction area for the second seasons of “Family Feud” (“Familienduell”) and “Hey Presto” (“Ruck Zuck”) on behalf of RTLplus, as were filmpool entertainment GmbH with “Suspicious Cases” (“Verdachtsfälle”) for RTL, “Clinic at the Südring” (“Klinik am Südring”) and “On Patrol – The Specialists” (“Auf Streife – Die Spezialisten”) for SAT.1, and “Hamburg Police Station” (“Die Wache Hamburg”) for RTL 2.

Cologne cathedral opened its venerable doors for an overwhelming audio experience on 18 May 2017. The WDR Symphony Orchestra, led by Jukka-Pekka Saraste, proudly presented Hector Berlioz’ “Grande Messe des Morts”, Requiem for tenor, mixed choir and orchestra op. 5. The perfect presentation of voices, such as tenor Andrew Staples, the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, and the WDR Radio Choir Cologne, impressed the music connoisseurs in attendance and a host of others too. In cooperation with our Euro Media Group affiliates DBVideo, nobeo organised the live broadcast on WDR 3 and the live stream on ARTE Concert. The programme was also recorded for broadcast on 3sat and is due to be rerun by WDR Fernsehen on 26 November 2017.
Our @-car experienced even more musical highlights at the Philharmonic Concert Hall in Cologne and Dortmund Concert Hall. On behalf of Bernhard Fleischer Moving Image Streaming, our mobile web expertise was deployed for the live stream of classical programmes on YouTube on three dates in spring. The programmes included Daniil Trifonov with Chopin’s piano concertos, two performances by the Gürzenich Orchestra, including pieces by Britten, Chin, Debussy, and Ravel, and an additional concert with compositions by Bloch, Prokofjew and Tschaikowsky.

As Senior Sales Manager, Markus Maschke is now responsible for the expansion of the outdoor broadcasting unit and the TV service provider’s international activities

nobeo GmbH added a highly-experienced colleague to its team on 1 May 2017. Markus Maschke is now strengthening the Hürth-based company and focusing on the expansion of national and international sales activities.

The 39-year-old will, in the future, focus primarily on expanding the company’s outdoor production and broadcasting; in particular, nobeo’s broadcast vehicle fleet and the flight case equipment are already in high demand all over Europe for entertainment and sporting highlights. In conjunction with the technical and personnel resources within the EuroMedia Group, these activities are now being further intensified at home and abroad under the leadership of Markus Maschke.

Speaking of Markus Maschke, Managing Director Stefan Hoff was able to convince a long-time industry expert and companion to join nobeo GmbH: “I am very pleased to welcome Markus Maschke to our team. I have appreciated his work for several decades. With him, our company gains a great personality with comprehensive and outstanding professional competence and an exemplary network.”

The coordination, as well as the logistical and technical implementation of outdoor broadcasting, is second nature to the trained sound engineer. With his company RecordLab, which he founded in 2007, Markus Maschke designed and built his own OB vehicle, which he later sold to NEP along with his company. Prior to his current duties at nobeo, he was working for its Munich branch as Sales Director.

It’s back! nobeo implements revival of comedy show “Genial Daneben”

If you ever wanted to know what a “Blödauge” or a “Drahthose” is, “Genial Daneben” is the perfect place to start. After a five-year-long hiatus Sat.1 is bringing the crazy guessing show back to the screen along with a first-class panel of candidates. Germany’s top comedians, such as Luke Mockridge, Gaby Köster, Ralf Schmitz, Chris Tall, Kaya Yanar, or Max Giermann support the fixed ensemble of Hugo Egon Balder, Hella von Sinnen, and Wigald Boning as they look for the answers to baffling questions. On behalf of MP Medienparks NRW GmbH, our HD OB truck nobeo1 toured the neighbourhood and implemented the production thanks to our 25-person team and five cameras. Sat.1 began broadcasting the six new episodes of “Genial Daneben” on 10 March 2017.

Games, fun, and nobeo: premiere of “Paul Panzer’s Comedy Game Night”

Bring out your playful side and improvisational talent – it’s time for “Paul Panzer’s Comedy Game Night!” The new show highlight on Sat.1 pits celebrity teams against each other in multiple game rounds. Creative drawing abilities or skilled pantomime are some of the cunning tactics the VIPs employ to win. MP Medienparks NRW GmbH trusted our nobeo1 and its team to take care of the more rational side of things and bring our essential technical knowledge to the production. 25 colleagues took care of the setup on site and recorded the exuberant gaming action with six cameras. The premiere was aired by Sat.1 on 10 March 2017, followed by the second episode one week later.

Videohouse takes over DB Video

The Euro Media Group was happy to wish a Happy New Year and a warm welcome to a new member of the family: EMG subsidiary Videohouse acquired a stake in DB Video Belgium & Luxembourg. The two leading service providers had already worked together on audio-visual projects on behalf of the European Parliament, and their spectrum of services complement each another perfectly. Even after the acquisition DB Video will remain an autonomous and independent brand headed by CEO Dimitri Beyaert, and can thus guarantee the continuation of their exceptional services to existing clients. From now on, nobeo will also be using these services to expand our production capabilities by a further four OB vehicles and twelve Flight Case production sets provided by DB Video. Live from the discounter: @-car streams pop concert from Aldi Süd store

We have proved time and time again that nobeo tackles productions almost anywhere in the world, especially thanks to our versatile webTV mobile @-car. But the location of this concert livestream was a surprise even to us. Swapping their regular selection of fruit, vegetables, and special offers, a Cologne-based Aldi Süd store invited customers to witness an exceptional concert experience. Up-and-coming rapper Fargo from Berlin performed songs from his album “Wunderbare Jahre” (“Wonderful Years”) to a crowd of 200 invited guests. The nobeo team strategically positioned four cameras and a mini cam between shelves and checkouts on behalf of United News GmbH, and used the @-car to ensure the concert live stream ran smoothly on the Aldi Life Facebook channel.
